Backup and Retention of Contents of the University at Albany Web Server:

The University at Albany web server is backed up to tape on a daily basis. The backup tapes are retained for a period of three weeks to insure that the University is able to restore services in the event of a disaster. Some files such as system, security and Internet services logs (automated logs created to monitor access and use of University services provided through albany.edu) are retained for a period of time greater than 21 days. Access to and Correction of Personal Information Collected Through albany.edu:

Any user may submit a request to the University's privacy compliance officer to determine whether personal information pertaining to that user has been collected through albany.edu. Any such request shall be made in writing and must be accompanied by reasonable proof of identity of the user. In addition, the University at Albany has implemented procedures to safeguard the integrity of its information technology assets, including, but not limited to, authentication, authorization, monitoring, auditing, and encryption.
