THE FUTURE IS A PLACE: A CLIMATE WRITING & FUTURECRAFTING WORKSHOP (Rising 9th-12th Graders)
This workshop is for teens interested in storytelling, the environment, and imagining what comes next. Grounded in place-based writing and climate storytelling, this course invites students to explore their relationship to the places they know, examine local climate issues affecting our region, and ultimately imagine—and craft—possible futures.
Instructor
: Tonya Wile teaches 11th grade English and 12th grade Public Speaking. She supports teens as they develop their voices, confidence, and imagination in a welcoming, low-pressure environment. She believes writing can be both a creative outlet and a way to make sense of big questions—together.
This workshop will run July 13-17, 9am-12pm, at the University at Albany. Space is limited! Please register by June 1, 2026.
